This year the forms are in word format so you can type on them and print them off or preferably save them after typing and then email to me so I can capture the info off them to save me the time it takes to retype everything. Thank you!
Friendly but important reminders:
**Check in times
Animals may arrive for check in between 6pm and 11pm on Friday, June 10, 2016 and again starting at 6am on Saturday June 11. Animals must be in place by 7:30am on Saturday, June 11, 2016 this includes being checked in. Goats will be released at the conclusion of all rings or early release by permission of the show chairperson.
Health papers are not required for South Dakota goats but they are required for out of state animals per SD health requirements (please scroll down just a little bit to see the live link to the state's requirements) SD does not require any testing just a permit number that your vet obtains.
**Check in committee
All animals will be inspected as they are unloaded by a member of the inspection crew. They will have the authority to dismiss an entire herd from the show based on their findings. Please respect the health and safety of the other herds that attend and do not bring sick or infected animals.
Things such as (but not limited to) ringworm, abscesses, or sore mouth will not be allowed due to their contagious nature.
Here is a link to a map of the fairgrounds. The 4-H complex building is straight North of Gate 2 and Gate 3. You can use Gate 8 to enter the fairgrounds for the show since 3rd Street will be closed off due to the outdoor expo also going on this weekend.
Here is a link to the requirements for out of state animals traveling in South Dakota. Please contact the show if you have questions regarding the health paper policy for out of state animals.
We have opportunities available for individual herd and personal business sponsorships. This is a very affordable way to get your information out there for people to see. Please contact us for more info.
We also have a fairly active Facebook page South Dakota Goat Show. Updates, discussions, and feedback are posted there.
